Description
Mrs. R. C. Hammack of the Albany Study Club represented the First District, Texas Federation of Women's Clubs, in the GFWC-Vogue fashion sewing state Texas federation elimination contest. Mrs. Hammack is dressed in her navy blue pesante tailored costume suit. The costume was judged "most suitable costume for a club woman" at the closing session of the 58th annual convention of the First District, TFWC, in the Crystal Ballroom, Hotel Texas. Her entry placed first in the 10 costumes modeled by club women, and carried a district award given by The Fair, in addition to a chance to compete in the state for the three-week trip to Paris for two, which is the grand prize for the GFWC winner.
