Mr. and Mrs. Gene Shields of 732 Hurstview frequently practice at home for their parts in the Fort Worth Opera Chorus. The gavel on the piano was presented to him as a symbol of his newly elected position as president of the group. Fort Worth Star-Telegram Evening edition June 13, 1968.
