    Competition for the elephant role in the opera "Aida" is not too keen, because the elephant must be able to trod the boards without stepping through. Rudolf Kruger, general manager and director of Fort Worth Opera Association, and R. G. Webb, tenor find that Shanti of the Fort Worth Zoo is just right for the role.
