Mrs. Amon G Carter Jr. is one of the eight Texas women who received the Chemstrand Award of Merit for their contributions to the culture of Texas at a reception. Mrs. Carter is photographed at her home wearing the at-home dress of Chemstrand fabric created for the occasion by Texas designer Charles Dickey.
