A large, distinctly colored Western Rock Squirrel, donated by Mrs. Fred Wilson of Cross Plains, nibbles at his cage. An inhabitant of arid Southwest regions, the Rock Squirrel hibernates under boulders. Fort Worth Star-Telegram Morning edition June 12, 1960.
