Description
Burning wreckage of the Superfortress B-29 plane near Indian Oaks, Texas, five miles north of Carswell Air Force Base. The fatal crash killed four of the twelve crewmen on board. This shows the smoldering wreckage of the fuselage while a wing of the reconnaissance bomber lies approximately 50 yards away. The wing was sheared off when the ship struck a 40-foot utility pole after its crash landing.
