Mrs. Mabel Goodwin, Bowie Art League president, is interested in painting Montague County history, and she is shown here discussing early days with M. H. McKee, retired school teacher, who has spent 71 of his 75 years in the country. They're discussing Mrs. Goodwin's painting of an old tree, from which Nancy Hill, the county's only known female horse thief was hanged.
