    Description

Image shows the front of the Candy Lane Store at 615 5th Avenue, where a jeepster driven by Joe Burlew, 2527 Shropshire, lost control and jumped the two foot curb, coming to a stop halfway inside the store. A clerk, Mrs. C. R. Simpson, escaped possible injury as she had left the front room to answer the phone seconds before the accident. Walter H. Robers, co-owner of the store, is shown attempting to remove shards of glass from the store front. Published on February 25, 1951.
