The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) sewing contest winners, Jacqueline Hooe, left, and Ernestine East, right, both of Lena Pope Home, are shown modeling the dresses that won them first prizes in the Mary Isham Keith chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, annual sewing contest. The girls are shown standing on either side of Mrs. W. R. Thompson, the chapter regent, during the chapter's annual George Washington Birthday tea. Published in the morning edition, February 23, 1951.
