Image shows George Kellam wearing a coonskin hat. Kellam graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in journalism, and was an 8th Air Force lieutenant and bombardier. As a journalist for the Star-Telegram, a story he wrote on boxing brothers Tobe and Roy Harris won him first place in the sports division of the annual Texas Associated Press writing contest in 1950. Published in the morning edition, February 18, 1951.
