Image from a series on Soil Conservation at Pilot Point, published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram's Ranch and Farm News. The Image shows Jerry Johnson, left, a King Ranch grass (KR) enthusiast, speaking with James L. Coppedge, center, a Pilot Point Soil Conservation Service (SCS) work unit conservationist, and Mack McConnell, a district conservationist at Denton, as the three sit in a pasture. The 21-acre field, shown grazed by cattle, is one that Johnson rents from H. B. Portwood. Published February, 1951.
