Governor and Mrs. Marialice Shivers and one of their children pause on the Capitol steps in Austin after his inauguration for his first full two-year term. The governor wears the same tie, emblazoned with the Lone Star flag, that he wore when first sworn in as governor after the death of Governor Jester. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition January 17, 1951.
