Image shows Marguerite Higgins, a North Side High School student who won the citywide 1950 American Veterans with Disabilities essay contest. She was awarded a $15 cash prize from the Bluebonnet American Veterans with Disabilities chapter and a gold medal. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition January 12, 1951.
