Description
The first 1950 Freedom Fire in Texas was kindled at Veterans Memorial by Claude H. Latson, center, as Joe Spurlock, past departmental commander of the American Legion, left, and District Attorney Stewart Hellman steadied the six-foot-tall pedestal. The torch will burn continously forseven days. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition December 1, 1950.
