Description

The formal dignity of "white tie and tails" for men, the swirling long skirts of evening gown and the elegance of fur wraps and orchid corsages marked the opening performance of "The Bat," presented in English by the Fort Worth Civic Opera Company at Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum. One last smoke before curtain time was snatched by formally-clad George Whitman, whose wife, right, is a member of the Opera Guild. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition November 30, 1950.
