Description

E. Claude Manning, 2314 mistletoe Avenue, was the first Fort Worth citizen to sign the scroll in the shadow of the Freedom Bell placed in Burk Burnett Park. Mrs. Arthur Conrad, with Manning, was one of a committee from the Beta Sigma Phi sorority in charge of obtaining signatures and contributions to the Crusade for Freedom. The bell, a replica of a huge Freedom Bell unveiled in Berlin on United Nations Day. Published in the Fort Worth Star - Telegram evening edition, October 3, 1950.
