Pictured here is Walter T. Williams, Fort Worth's first organized naval reserve officer to be called to active duty without so request. He received orders to report to San Francisco. Williams, a 32-year-old senior clerk for Sinclair Oil Company, was a naval veteran of World War II, with 14 months of overseas duty in the Pacific Theater. He had a rating of lieutenant, junior grade and served as a communication specialist
