Description
The rose cockatoo, shown here, is one of the most valuable birds in the $6,000 shipment of specimens delivered to Forest Park Zoo. The Cokatoo and its mate, not shown, cost $325, said Zoo Director Hamilton "Ham" Hittson. Natives of Australia, the cockatoos eat sunflower seeds. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition September 11, 1950.
