High School Welter Billy Spruill of North Side (Pointing to scales) and Poly's Maurice Etheridge met at Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum in the first bout of the 1950 regional Golden Gloves tournament. Maurice Etheridge stands on the scale while Spruill points towards it. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, January 19, 1950.
