    Description

Clipping reads: "A crowd mills around the Euless Independent School after a group of Negroes attempted to enroll their children there. The Negro children were refused. Their leader [Dr. G. D. Flemmings of the Fort Worth branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP)] said later they had not expected to gain admission, but hoped to get improvements for the Negro school...Flemmings added that 'the courts have ruled that the Negro children of the Mosier Valley community must be given equal school facilities--that building is in bad condition and we wanted the school board out there to do something about remodeling it.'"
