Description
Two sets of fathers and daughters are shown signing the Crusade for Freedom scroll at a Labor Day picnic. The crusade was an American propaganda campaign with the public goal of raising funds for Radio Free Europe. Seated, is J. W. Paul, of 508 Youngblood Drive, standing, left to right, are C. L. Senior, a fireman; Miss Evelyn Howell, of 320 Whitney; Miss Janet Paul, and Mr. O. M. Howell. The signatures would be enshrined at the base of a Liberty Bell in Berlin. Published in the evening edition, September 4, 1950.
