Description
Louie Levy, of 2831 Avenue, took up married life again after an interruption by the United States Navy. Levy had been married for exactly 22 days when he received orders on July 21 (1950) to report for active duty with the Naval Air Reserve. Levy had been discharged as a Navy veteran in July of 1946, and had signed up for four years. Upon reporting for duty, and spending a week at the Naval Air Station in San Diego California, he was called before his squadron commander and informed that a mistake had occurred, and his reserve enlistment had been meant to expire a week prior to he had been called to active duty. Published in the evening edition, August 30, 1950.
