    Description

Vern Doonan, left, Packard Zone manager in Dallas, is shown presenting a gold seal plaque to Albert J. Meeks, local car dealer, the first awarded in Texas. With the plaque goes a three-year dealer contract. The award was based on sales, financial stability, adequate showroom, parts and service facilities, and efficiency of operation. The gold seal contract system was instituted the prior year, succeeding the former practice of renewing all dealer contracts annually. Published in the morning edition, July 30, 1950.
