Brenda Fay McCanless, 2-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. S. McCanless, 3816 Jacksboro Highway, was the first patient at Fort Worth Children's Hospital to enjoy a new bed, one of two given to the hospital by the West Side Kiwanis Club. Left to right, are George C. McIlheran, president of the club; Howard Patterson, hospital treasurer; Wylie S. Brown, John Morris and Dr. Leon G. Cloud, club members, and M. Ward Bailey, president of the hospital board, who received the gifts. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram, evening edition July 24 1950.
