Image shows Colonel Jones seated at desk. Lt. Colonel William P. Jones is the new executive officer of Fort Worth district, Corps of Engineers. He served as engineer from November 1945 until April 1946 in Korea. The new executive officer served on two fronts. He was part of General Patton's task force and served throughout the African, Sicilian and Italian campaigns. After V-E day he was sent as commander of an engineer combat group to the Philippines. Later he crossed the China Sea from Manila to Pusan, Korea with a convoy of Land Ship Mediums. He was area engineer in Pusan. Jones was assigned here from Fort Sam Houston, where he was in charge of the San Antonio suboffice of the Galveston district, Corps of Engineers.
