Description

The photograph shows the oil well, Underwriters Producing & Refining Company number 1 W. H. Abrams which was first tapped in 1920 with petroleum deposits in the Permian Basin. It is north of Westbrook and was completed early in 1921 which is still producing. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition April 4, 1954.
