    Description

    Frank Champion, driller of the well that set off the Ranger boom, stands at a monument erected in commemoration of the well. He worked for Warren Wagner, who was the drilling contractor on the McCleskey lease. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition December 20, 1953.
