    Description

    Eastland citizens entombed Old Rip in the lobby of the present courthouse after the death of the horned toad in 1929. The creature was reported to have lived 31 years in the cornerstone of the old courthouse. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition December 20, 1953.
