Description

First National Bank of Cisco, remodeled in 1950, was the target of a bloody robbery on Dec. 23, 1927. A gunman dressed as Santa Claus long afterward was lynched when a jail guard he shot at Eastland died. Two peace officers and a robber were shot fatally in a gunfight beside the bank. A third robber died in the electric chair. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition December 20, 1953.
