Description
Whitney Dam, flood control and hydroelectric installation built by the Corps of Engineers, already has backed enough water into Whitney Reservoir to give Texans another important lake resort. The picture was taken downstream, showing floodgates, stilling basin, power plant and transformer station. State Highway 22 crosses the 19,600-foot long dam.
