Description
An aerial view of the 500-foot reinforced concrete spillway which would discharge flood water at the Grapevine Dam on Denton Creek. (1) Shows the exact spillway section, about two thirds complete, with one area at the spillway crest not yet poured and other pours bottled by curing processes. (2) Points to the top area above the spillway which will be part of the 238,200 acre-feet of water storage for flood control. (3-4) Concrete tie-ins to the dam's earth embankment are shown finished, and (5) points to the spillway channel, bordered by retaining walls near the dam, that will direct the overflow water back into the original creek channel below the dam.
