Description
Kenneth Lynn Bartlett, 2, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bartlett of Arlington and great- great- grandson of Noah T. Byars, looks at an outline of Texas with his grandmother, also of Arlington. Byars owned the building in which delegates met to declare Texas independent of Mexico. Monday, Byars' descendants received payment for the rent bill on the building, 123 years overdue, in ceremonies at Washington on Brazos. Governor Daniel spoke there and also at Huntsville.
