Description
Eight branches of the Metropolitan YMCA of Fort Worth and Tarrant County will be resting hopes for their year's program of activities for youth on success of the Y's 1959 Friend of Youth Membership. The oldest branch here is McDonald Branch for African Americans, which had its beginning in 1903 and gets its name from the late William A. McDonald, who gave the Y its present building, a former hotel. The McDonald branch has a Friend of Youth membership goal of 500. Heading its drive is K. W. McMillan; Rev. C.C. Cyphers is chairman of the management committee, and John L. Barnett us the vice chairman.
