Description
The 10 percent federal tax on transportation is one of the biggest deterrents to passenger travel on the railroads, a vice president of one of the nation's leading rail systems said here Friday. Guy R. Glover of Chicago, vice president of traffic for the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy, the Colorado and Southern and the Fort Worth and Denver, said "There's every indication that Congress will be asked to eliminate the tax."
