One-year-old J. Charles Chambers Jr. wistfully watches activities from his bed at City-County Hospital where he has been a polio patient since October. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Charles and Jimmie Mae Chambers of Alvord. Charles hasn't recovered sufficiently to try to walk yet. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, June 27, 1950. A male toddler sucking on his thumb.
