Description
Super Salesmen Receive Awards Fort Worth's super salesmen of 195842 men and women whose faith in themselves and their products did not falter even in a year of so-called recessionwere honored Monday night at Hotel Texas. They were presented with Victor Awards symbolic of outstanding salemenship at the 30th annual Distinguished Salesmen's Award Banquet sponsored by the Fort Worth Sales Executives Club and the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce. And a 43rd award, this one designated especially for the single outstanding salesman of the year, went to Dr. M. E. Sadler, president of Texas Christian University. Dr. Sadler's award was a complete surprise to him. He was lured to the banquet to introduce the scheduled guest speaker. As he arose to perform his assigned task he was presented with a gleaming "Victor" by Howard Carraway, former director of the Sales Executives Club and widely known trainer of salesmen. Dr. Sadler, said Carraway, "has one of the toughest selling jobs there isthat of selling more and more kids on the idea of wanting more education." Citing the tremendous growth of TCU from a student body of 1,734 in 1940 to the present enrollment of 6,474. Carraway said he knows of no one in the nation who has done a better job than Dr. Sadler of making more youngsters eager to learn more.
