    Party Planned for Couple Wed 50 Years Ago Mr. and Mrs. Clarence P Shirley of Avondale will be honored on their 50th anniversary Sunday with an open house from 2 to 5 P. M. at the home of a daughter, Mrs. E. H. Ashlock, 5100 Glade. The couple were married December 21, 1908 in Roanoke and have lived in the Avondale community since their marriage. He is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Shirley of Honea Path, S. C. She is the former Miss Nolia Cox, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. T. L. Cox of Fort Worth. The couple have three children, Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Sessions of 100 Live Oak, Mrs. Ashlock and Rev. J. C. Shirley of ROute 8, and three grandchildren.
