    Description

Dr. Danforth Given Award by Marines Dr. W. J. Danforth, longtime Fort Worth civic leader and worker in veterans' affairs, was presented a framed Certificate of Appreciation by Marine Colonel W. H. Stephens of New Orleans Monday night at ceremonies at the Naval and Marine Corps Reserve Training Center, 2222 West Rosedale. The Marine Corps is the fourth major service to present such an award to Dr. Danforth. It is the highest certificate which can be given a civilian by the military. Danforth has worked closely with local Marine units, as well as those of other services, in promoting good community relations between civilians and the military. Colonel Stephens, director of the 8th Marine Corps Reserve and Recruitment District, made the presentation on behalf of the commandment of the corps, General Randolph McCall Pate.
