Description
Flag at Half Staff Medical Society Honors Birthday of Late Publisher. In memoriam, left to right, Doctors Flood, Crawford, Steger and McVeigh. The flag at the Academy of Medicine was at half staff Thursday in observance of the birthday of the late Amon Carter. In a brief ceremony during the morning, members of the Tarrant County Medical Society paid tribute to the late publisher and his role in construction of the academy building. Dr. William E. Flood, president of the society, said it was fitting that Carter's birthday be observed in light of the many things he had done for the benefit of Fort Worth and the medical association. Members of the memorial committee of the society, Drs. William M. Crawford, Joseph F. McVeigh and J. H. Steger, raised the flag and then lowered it to half staff.
