$1,500 in Prizes Given During Review of Art Mayor Tom McCann, left, with James Wozniak, center, and Jan Donaghe, right. If Fort Worth needed concrete proof of its interest in art and artists, it's hanging at the Art Center now in the form of the 22nd Tarrant County Annual Exhibition. More than $1,500 in prizes was presented to local artists Monday by Mayor McCann at the preview of the exhibition given for members of Fort Worth Art Association. Winning artists were: Jane Donaghe, $400. Bertram M. Newhouse award for her oil, "Surrounding Stillness." William M. Allen, $150. Mrs. J. Lee Johnson III award for his oil, "Brink." Charles Williams, $150. Dr. and Mrs. Rex J. Howard sculpture award for cast bronze, "Happy Children Playing." James Wozniak, $100. Charlotte Moore Memorial award for polymer, "Landscape." David Brownlow, $100. Albert Evans Jr. Purchase award for watercolor, "Landscape." McKie Trotter, $100. Bertram M. Newhouse award for oil, "Sea II." Tully Petty, $50. James R. Record award for oil, "Death of the Last Centaur." McKie Trotter, $50. Texas Wesleyan College drawing purchase award for "Tumbleweed." Ernie Jones, $50. Lon Hellums merchandise award for oil, "August Landscape."
