    Description

Fort Worth belles have graced festivals all over the state. Special costumes worn on these occasions are modeled by Miss Patricia Penrose, foreground, in the gown Miss Anne Windfohr wore when she was duchess of Texas at the Tyler Rose Festival in 1957; and standing, from the left, Miss Judy McVeigh, in the gown worn by Camilla Beall--now Mrs. William B. Thompson--at the Galveston Mardi Gras in 1940; Mrs. Elton Hyder Junior in the costume of Miss Kathrine Johnson who was queen of the Fort Worth Fat Stock Show pageant in 1925; and Mrs. J. A Durkin in the gown she wore as Fort Worth duchess to the Fiesta de San Jacinto in San Antonio in 1941.
