Description
Happy Birthday at the Bank - W. M. Massie, left, and Estil Vance, right. W. M. Massie, honorary chairman of the board and retired vice president of Fort Worth National Bank, was honored with a surprise luncheon Thursday observing his 85th birthday. As he entered the bank's executive dining room to eat lunch he was greeted by "Happy Birthday," sung by a group of former associates and co-workers. At the conclusion of the singing President Estil Vance stepped forward and presented Massie with a handsome clock. At the end of the luncheon there was the traditional birthday cake. The bank, it was noted, opened for business in the same year that Massey was born. He joined the bank as a collector in 1890 and rose through the ranks to vice president before his retirement in 1953.
