Description
Distributive Education Program Mapped by Teachers at Lunch - Teachers in the distributive education program of the Fort Worth public schools and representatives of local department stores outline plans Wednesday for the 1958-1959 school year. Miss Nina Terry, co-ordinator of distributive education at Paschal High School and chairman of the teacher group, presided at the luncheon meeting at Hilton Hotel. Reports on summer workshops and conferences were given by Tommy Weatherred and Miss Merle Campbell. Other leaders in the group of teachers and advisers were R. L. Genzer of Leonard's and Mrs. Lou Barse of The Fair stores. The grop of seven public school teachers and seven members of the advisory committee set policies controlling the program. High school students gain experience working in stores at the same time they are taking a course in merchandising which trains them for sales work after they are out of school.
