Description
Woman, 80, Drives Up for Services - Mrs. Florence Broughton has driven up from Kerrville to attend graduation exercises for her daughter at TCU Friday night. She arrived here feeling chipper despite the fact that she's 80. This is Mrs. Broughton's second trip to Fort Worth to attend commencement exercises for her daughter. She made her first plane flight here from Kerrville in 1954 at the age of 76. Mrs. Reba Jones is climaxing a return to college, after 21 years of married life, with the attainment of the degree. She is a visiting teacher with the Fort Worth Public Schools. The 300-mile drive Mrs. Broughton made in her big yellow and white car was a bit different from her first venture across Texas in 1904. She and her husband were among the first five families to settle in Dawson County then.
