Description
Stephenville, Aug. 5 - There should be a parenthetical addition to the sign here that reads Hall Hotel. It should read Hall Hotel (and U.S. Navy Recruiting Office). There are Navy recruiting leaflets on the cashier's counter in the coffee shop. There are more on end tables at the north end of the lobby. A guest who wishes to browse through the lobby's reading material may find himself stoking up on such information as the Navy's pension plan before he realizes what's happening. At the north end of the lobby, the wall is decorated with a couple of pictures showing seamen. Prominent in each is Chief B. C. Sherrill. That same B. C. Sherrill is the hotel proprietor - and a sort of unofficial Navy recruiter.
