Description
Curious about railroading, Charles Lee Lewis, left his native Johnson County to take a "temporary" job with the Santa Fe in Fort Worth. He planned to work two months, then move on. He had planned to work for two months, then move on. That was in 1917. 33 years later would find him planning to retire as chief roundhouse clerk. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, May 31, 1950.
