Description
A burning cross was discovered in Sycamore Park near Rosedale and Mitchell in Fort Worth, Texas following protests of an African American man, Lloyd G. Austin, moving in to the Riverside neighborhood at 209 N. Judkins Street. Fort Worth Policeman W. O. Sharp, second from right, said that when he and his partner, W. D. Tucker, right, arrived at the scene there were no people present around the cross, but spectators arrived soon after. The roughly made cross was wrapped in rags to speed its burning.
