    Image shows Police Sergeant J. L. Forrester reading a sign attached to the leg of the African American effigy, hanging from the West Lancaster Bridge. The effigy is in violent protest against the federal decree for Mansfield to open its schools to African Americans students. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition August 30, 1956.
