The generals take a break in a corner at River Crest Country Club in Fort Worth just before a dinner honored Brig. Gen. John W. Naylor on his retirement from the Texas National Guard as assistant commander of the 49th Armored Division. Left to right are Maj. Gen. Carl Phinney of Dallas; Maj. Gen. Albert Sidney Johnson of Dallas; General Naylor, whose promotion to brevet major general was announced at the dinner; Brig. Gen. James Taylor of Kerens; Brig. Gen. Harley West of Dallas, standing; and Brig. Gen. Clayton P. Kerr of Dallas.
