Description
Pat Cranston, who inaugurated the first children's television program in the Southwest in 1949, "See Saw Zoo", on the Star-Telegram's WBAP-TV, left for Seattle where she will be instructor in charge of radio and television advertising and news at the University of Washington. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Cranston of 4417 E. Lancaster, Miss Cranston was graduated from OLV and received a journalism degree at the University of Texas in 1944. After six months with the National Broadcasting Company in New York in 1948, she joined the WBAP-TV staff and has written the puppet show's continuity ever since, even during the past year while she was earning a master of journalism degree at the U. of T. While in Austin, she was a teaching fellow on the journalism faculty, in addition to her studies and carrying on the "See Saw Zoo" series. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition September 7, 1954.
